Five ways to manage stress and mindset for health

It can be easy to forget that health is our most important asset. Many of us take our good health for granted until we fall ill. I don’t just mean physical health, I mean the entire package – mental wellbeing included. Think about a well-tended garden, flowers in bloom, lush green grass and shiny leaves blowing in the wind happily. None of this would be possible without regular, consistent maintenance, and the right type of nourishment. How do you tend the garden that is your mind? Have you found the right nourishment that fills up your cup?

In this blog, I will share 5 techniques that could help you.

Reiki Healing

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing that works by transferring healing energy through the practitioner to you. I especially recommend a Reiki session to you if you’ve found talking therapies don’t suit you or relieve stress. You might have a traumatic experience you’d rather not verbalise, or have spoken about enough. Reiki requires little talking, and I can clear energy without knowing the details of what may have happened. It is entirely in your control how much you talk about it.

Meditation

Whether you carry out meditation on your own, in a meditation class, or in a private meditation session with a teacher, meditation is particularly useful for stress management. It incorporates mindfulness practices and other helpful principles to transform your worldview. Meditation equips you with tools you can use every single day and alters your response to stressful situations. Our online classes are supportive and kind, taking the approach that we are all on this life journey together and through sharing experience, we all learn. Meditating in groups (whether in person, online or via an app like Insight Timer) also deepens and strengthens the experience through a process called entrainment. That is why even experienced meditators talk about the difference it makes to meditate with others at least some of the time.

Yoga

Yoga is a beautiful and ancient tradition incorporating physical posture, breathing control, and stretching techniques to bring peace and calm to the body and mind. Again, yoga can be highly effective whether you follow YouTube videos at home, attend a yoga class, or have a private yoga session with a teacher. I’ve worked with numerous clients to recover from surgery, injury or other physical or mental ill-health and can tailor a session to suit your needs and goals. I particularly love to help women feel good physically and mentally, whatever may currently be happening in their world. It is possible with yoga – it’s a rest for the soul as well as a stretch for the body.

Flower Essences

Flower Essences are designed to help you manage your emotions around your health or any other aspects of your life. They are liquids made through a process that captures the ‘essence’ or energetic properties of a flower. Each flower has its own healing properties and uses. You can buy the essences yourself or you can have a Flower Essences consultation in which I will get to understand your needs and provide the essences that will most support your healing. Children love them!

Life Coaching

Coaching is all about improving your mindset, addressing limiting beliefs or behaviours, and gaining clarity personally or professionally, through powerful conversations. It is best carried out with an experienced Life Coach who can get to know you and attune to your wants, and needs, and be a supportive and guiding force on your life journey. I’ve worked with cancer patients who need close, bespoke support as they embark on their recovery; people going through relationship challenges or breakdowns; those wanting to find a new direction in life; and those needing to find peace within themselves. I believe we thrive when we have a life that has meaning to us, with relationships that support, delight and stretches us, and a robust inner framework for dealing with the inevitable ups and downs life brings.

Click here to book a private session or class with me on any of the above techniques – all sessions take place in and around Winchester or online.
